Sister, 2025, Shagawi-gamag/Ely, Minnesota. This mixed media (acrylic paint, adhesive, birchbark) work was created during an arts educators' residency at Tofte Lake Center in July of 2025, as I spent the week examining internal/external landscapes through a lens of rematriation and experimentation with alternative processes. Materiality of the Spirit, Campbell Hall Studio, Studio City, California (2024). Sourced materials in jars adorn the cart to convey the fluid power of traditional knowledge within narratives of self-determination. Knowledge (2025), muslin, silk, metal. This installation is currently on display at Idyllwild Arts Academy, and features photographs created by students as a part of a Site Specific Photography workshop held on Indigenous People's Day. Peatlands (2025) This mixed media work is a part of a series inspired by my time traveling through the largest ecological peatlands of the north, and my encounters with the stories that they held. Homesick (2025), Silver Gelatin Photomontage, The scene depicted was created during my time traveling through the boreal forests of the north, surrounded by the whispers of my ancestors and the love embedded in the land. The assemblage of images were initially discarded Gelatin Silver prints, revived by post production processes in Photoshop. Daughter (2026), Chorophyll Print, This print took many days, and features the imprint of a portrait that I took of one of my greatest teachers, my daughter. American Dream (2026), Leather and Ink. This mixed media piece explores the nuances of identity within industrial landscapes through alternative photographic processes. Plurality (2025), Toned Cyanotype, This explores an existence within parallel timelines. The abstraction of the photographs chronicle time in both. As I move between analogue and digital, memory and place shape the dance between material forms. Time, 5221 Monte Vista St, Los Angeles, California (2024). This site-specific work consists of sourced industrial items from my birthplace of Harbor City, CA to examine the role of time through traditional Anishinaabe pictographs and cyclical paradigms. Assimilation, Campbell Hall Studio, Studio City, California (2024). Through a conceptual lens, the arrangement of darts and archival photographs on a dart board explores the internal landscape of forced assimilation within the American dream. Fragments of Home, 5221 Monte Vista St, Los Angeles, California (2024). This site specific work reimagined a memory from my childhood home, and examined the contrast of energies within an urban family structure.
